Driveway Resurfacing

A dear client family, with a very capable independant 92 year old mom living on her own, consulted with me about having her driveway resurfaced. The gravel surface was sparce, full of rocks and pot holes. The entrance of the driveway that was previously paved was in considerable bad shape. It was definitely a fall risk especially in the winter when snow and ice collected.
After carefully determining their requirements regarding the scope, financial range and quality expectations I set out to find the best driveway resurfacing company to fulfill the project. That company was Black Ice Paving.
John and his crew did an outstanding job. As you will see in the progress photos below they didn't just pour some gravel down and rake it smooth as some companies might. They cleaned up the old existing material, laid down a foundation bed and compacted it before putting down the gravel and then compacting that to a smooth level surface. The same was done for the asphalt paved section. The top and bottom of the paved section were carefully sealed. Very professional.
They were on time, very neat and cleaned up before leaving. The job was completed at the agreed upon price.
I was onsite during the entire process, acting as the homeowner representative to ensure the job went exactly as expected and according to the agreed specifications. The family was very pleased. As their trusted service concierge I ensured the project was completed from beginning to end to their complete satisfaction, without the need to find, contact and negotiate with contractors and then supervise them during work or hope that the job will be completed as expected when they return, including the all important under-structure parts that cannot be seen after the top layer is installed.
