Exterior Lighting

The homeowner wanted to illuminate the steps leading up to his porch in as discreet a way as possible. He didn't want flood lights, a light post or light fixtues on the porch columns. A completely custom solution was designed and built using low voltage LEDs mounted out of sight under the stone sidewall cap.

The challenge for the dark back door steps below was to illuminate the landing, the steps and a bit of the path without needing to open walls to run electric cable, install a light switch and an exterior light fixture. The solution was to install a bright battery powered LED lamp. The lamp battery is charged by a solar panel that was mounted nearby on a rain gutter so that replacing batteries would not be a concern.

Landscape lights always need maintenance and periodic replacement as they get weathered. Most times people don't seasonally clean and lubricate the lamp's screw threads and clean the lens to keep them from becoming frozen. Landscapers and snow clearing can also take a toll on landscape lights.
